A New Ride

It's been a bit hectic around here the last few months. I retired in October and about a month later had a fire that burned my shop down and lost an unbelievable amount of stuff. I had three nice motorcycles that went up in smoke... a 2008 Superglide, a 2007 V-Star 1300, and a 2003 GSXR 1000. To say it was a bad day is an understatement. Still recovering from it but I did recently get a new ride that I have been enjoying for about a month now. It is a 2006 Yamaha Stratoliner... it only had 6000 miles on it and the previous owner... a hot rod buff... pulled the engine with only about 500 miles on it and sent it to California for a little hot rodding. Bumped it from 1800 plus cc's to 2200 cc's oversize valves and custom intake manifold. An aftermarket pipe rounds it out and its a pretty awesome ride if I do say so myself. They are heavy bikes at over 800 lbs but sit pretty high and you'd be hard pressed to drag anything in a corner with only one on board. It's only a five speed and feels like it could use another gear. Other than that its a pretty sweet ride.
